Cancer

What is it?

While it may affect different organs or parts of the body, all types of cancer have one thing in common: the normal mechanism of cell life and death is interrupted, creating a cell type that does not follow the usual laws of health and the body. Cancerous cells proliferate without regard for a normal cell life cycle, these cells grow and multiply uncontrolled. This abnormal growth of cells may be slow or fast, depending upon the type of cell and area of the body involved. In our modern world, cancer is reaching epidemic proportions, as nearly 1 out of 2 Americans born today will experience a cancer diagnosis at some point in their lifetime.

Key Points:

• Cancer affects nearly 11 million Americans at any one time

• Approximately 1.5 million Americans will receive a cancer diagnosis this year

• Options are dependent upon the type of cancer, its location, and whether or not the cancer has spread to lymph nodes or other organs

• While certain cancers are a result of lifestyle or chemical exposure, most are not attributable to one cause

• Risk factors include older age, tobacco and alcohol use, sunlight exposure, ionizing radiation, some viruses and bacteria, certain hormones, family history, diet and inactivity

• Some people develop cancer without any risk factors, while others with risk factors never develop cancer

How do we treat it?

At ACNH, we treat you as a whole person. Cancer is one part of your health, but it is not the only issue that needs to be addressed. For cancer to develop, three things must happen:

1) An interruption of normal immune system surveillance

2) A compromise of the liver’s capacity to detoxify

3) An emotional trigger of some sort, either a single event or a longer standing pattern of emotional imbalance

We work on each of these issues, as well as all other areas of physiological imbalance. Most importantly, we understand cancer as a process and the tumor as a symptom of that process. In other words, the tumor develops as a result of an underlying cancer forming physiology. We encourage all of our clients to evaluate each and every option that is offered to them-is it to destroy the tumor or is it intended to unravel this deeper process? Most often, in our opinion, successful cancer protocol requires simultaneous employment of both of these approaches.

For our clients undergoing surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy, we can recommend protocols to minimize side effects and maximize the efficacy of the conventional therapies. We  are happy to communicate with your other medical providers at your request.
