I encourage each of my clients to be proactive with their own health. We may share both laughs and tears as we journey through your health challenges; but my goal is to guide you to find balance on all levels of healing.
I would like to share with you my journey of becoming a doctor. The first person in my life that sparked my childhood imagination that I could one day be a doctor was my grandma (Martha). She would tell me that my touch was comforting and healing.
It was not until I was 20 years old that the thought of being a doctor returned. While on a mission trip overseas, I was moved with compassion for the people, for the pain that they were enduring and I felt called to help. This desire to help people brought me to Oral Roberts University in pursuit of medical school. It was at ORU that I worked toward my degree in Biology Pre-Med.
After graduating from ORU I had to make the decision of how I wanted to practice medicine and what I believed would be the best way for me to help my clients achieve their goals of health. I chose to become a Doctor that uses Naturopathic tools.
I attended Bastyr University in Seattle, WA the four year accredited Naturopathic Medical School where I received my Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, with training focused on prevention of disease and promotion of wellness in a primary care setting.
After graduating, I founded Acadiana Center for Natural Health – a place for families that integrates the foundational principles of natural medicine and cutting-edge research with the goal of promoting health.
I am dedicated to listening and hearing each individual’s needs. My passion and goal is to create a space for health to occur. I do this by creating a partnership between myself and my clients. I encourage each of my clients to be proactive with their own health. We may share both laughs and tears as we journey through your health challenges; but my goal is to guide you to find balance on all levels of healing.
I practice in Lafayette, LA, at Acadiana Center for Natural Health, where I strive to make my clients and community feel welcome. I work with people of all ages that may be dealing with acute or chronic illness that is negatively impacting their health. I look at indications of your state of health and use them as a guide to address the cause of your health issues. I am committed to identifying the root cause of your health issues and will work with you until we do. I am passionate about the career I have chosen and I will work to motivate, inspire, and empower you to make health an attainable goal.
I look forward to walking with you on your journey to health,
Dr. Joy Duhon
